Are you a high school junior or senior? Are you interested in becoming a veterinarian and more specifically, are you interested in working with farm animals? Do you know what is required to gain admission to veterinary school? This is your opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding. Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is partnering with the Kentucky Junior Cattlemen’s Association to identify five high school junior or senior students with strong academic credentials, emotional maturity, motivation, dedication, and ability to complete the veterinary medical curriculum.
You will be paired with a college of veterinary medicine student in a mentoring relationship. You will be provided four opportunities to meet and work alongside faculty from Auburn’s CVM as well as veterinarians from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, USDA APHIS Veterinary Services. There will be an option to perform hands on work at a cattle operation. The Auburn University Veterinary Student Mentor Team will work virtually throughout the academic year with you, their protégé, to provide guidance and support in your effort to gain admission into veterinary school.
A personal interview will be required for the final selection process. We will notify the applicants by phone to schedule their interview. For questions please contact Bradon Burks at [email protected]
